🏛️ Temple History and Significance

The temple’s origin dates back to the 1960s when workers laying a railway track discovered a Swayambu (self-manifested) idol of Goddess Mahishasura Mardhini at a place called Sakthi Medu. Captivated by the divine presence, they established a small shrine, which has since evolved into the present-day temple.

The main deity is approximately 10 feet tall, depicted with eight hands (Ashtabuja) holding various weapons, symbolizing strength and protection. Despite the fierce posture of slaying the demon Mahishasura, the Goddess’s face exudes a serene smile, offering comfort to devotees.

🌿 Unique Features

  • Sthala Vriksham (Sacred Tree): A neem tree whose leaves are notably non-bitter, considered a divine anomaly.
  • Annadhanam (Free Meal Service): Daily at 12:15 PM, the temple serves meals to approximately 100 devotees.
  • Festivals: On new moon and full moon days, special rituals like milk Abishekham with 108 liters of milk and homams are performed.

📍 How to Reach
